Long-time and recurring Eagle Board of Review Coordinator Jerry Simon has summarized his years of experience in one guidebook. Jerry has written some of the material. He has also used some of the material written by his immediate predecessor as the then-titled Eagle Coordinator Charlie Meyer, a life-long North Star Scout and Scouter.
Jerry’s experience has taught him that new scoutmasters and all Eagle candidates are slightly bewildered about the Eagle application process. He has reduced the process down to a how-to guide for our district.
He has taken the mystery out of simple questions like, “Where do I submit my Eagle application?” or “What does a completed Eagle application look like?”
He has also put the vast online resources of National Council and the Crossroads of America Council a simple click away.
Take a few moments and look at the district guidebook. For new scoutmasters, it will be worth a lesson. For experienced scoutmasters, we would invite comments for improving or clarifying the guidebook.
Upcoming guidebook on Eagle Projects:
In the next several weeks, we are sorry to say, our Eagle Project Coordinator Rick Whitman will be stepping down to focus his energies on his PhD candidacy at Ball State. In a last hurrah of support for North Star District, he will be publishing his own district guidebook to Eagle Project Applications.
We hope that the Eagle Project Guidebook will help smooth the transition as Troop 56’s Bill Cherry and Troop 35’s Rick Aker take over the mantel of Eagle Project Co-coordinators on or about August 20, 2015.
