What is a “Youth Talk” or “Lunch Talk?”

Posted on Updated on

My counterparts and I will be hosting 4 opportunities for volunteers to come learn about youth talks, as well as receive some demonstration/example as to what it may look like. We want to EMPOWER our volunteers with the knowledge to be able to do these talks, as opposed to just asking them for help.

On both July 16th, and July 22nd, we will host these trainings in the Shaheen Rooms of Golden-Burke Scout Center. There will be two sessions, one at 6:30pm, and the next beginning at 7:15pm. These are meant to be short trainings, with the opportunity to ask questions after. Volunteers who attend this training will be prepared and knowledgeable about what a youth talk looks like and best practices to conduct one.

Posted on Updated on

The American Legion “flag project” takes place on Saturday, 25 May.

American Legion Post # 3    6379 N. College Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46220

Scouts begin to show at 7:00. Breakfast quickly follows. Move out and flag placements will begin at 8:00.   You will be assigned a cemetery as a Unit and work in the same area.  We expect most of the project to be complete by 11:00.  American-flag-at-grave-on-Memo

This is a great service project for our boys to learn to honor those Americans who served our great country and died defending our freedom.

Please plan on coming for breakfast and this great service project.  Lets teach our scouts to give back to the community and the country.
